Independent orthopaedic perspective

A considered orthopaedic second opinion

A second opinion can be helpful when a diagnosis, scan finding or treatment recommendation does not yet feel clear. Elite coordinates consultant-led review and relevant subspecialist access around your specific question.

Areas Served

Available to Sussex patients and those needing a coordinated route from further afield.

It does not assume that a previous clinician or plan was wrong; it provides another expert perspective.

Suitable For

  • Questions about a proposed procedure or treatment
  • Persistent symptoms with an uncertain diagnosis
  • Review of existing imaging, letters and treatment history

What a second opinion can add

A second opinion is a chance to revisit the clinical story, records and priorities with consultant judgement. It can clarify what is known, what remains uncertain and whether a different specialist perspective or investigation is clinically appropriate.

It is not a promise that the recommendation will change, nor a substitute for emergency care.

Making existing evidence useful

Elite can coordinate the collection and review of relevant letters and imaging, then facilitate access to the most relevant subspecialist. This can be valuable for recent injury, persistent pain and people unsure which specialist should lead the next conversation.

A good question is often as important as a new test: what is driving symptoms, what are the reasonable options, and what would change the plan?

Fee, insurance and urgent help

The Complete Elite Care Pathway is £495. Investigations, treatment and additional specialist consultations are charged separately. The concierge fee is self-funded and not normally insured; eligible investigations or treatment may be covered subject to insurer authorisation.

Elite is not an emergency department. Use 999/A&E for life-threatening or serious immediate symptoms, and NHS 111 or an urgent NHS service for urgent symptoms that are not life-threatening.
